OptiRTC, Inc., (Opti), a technology startup focused on monitoring and control of stormwater infrastructure, is seeking a full-time engineer to work on the Operations Team. The position is open to start as soon as possible in Boston, MA.

We are a team working to implement the next generation of internet-connected, real-time environmental management specifically focused on stormwater. Using patented methods, we combine data describing the actual state of the environment with weather forecasts to actively manage stormwater infrastructure: increasing its effectiveness and helping keep our natural water bodies clean. Our company has recently received a major funding round, is gaining strong market traction, and is growing.

The Ops Team is responsible for delivering projects and services by managing the design, installation, deployment, and ongoing support of projects for our customers. This involves civil,  hydraulic, hydrologic, electrical, control, and mechanical design; planning and executing fieldwork; commissioning and provisioning systems; and supporting existing systems. The Ops Team touches every aspect of delivering a vertically integrated stormwater management solution: from civil engineering to software development.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to,

  • Direct client communications
  • Regular, systematic assessment of the status of all deployed sites
  • Issue categorization and task tracking
  • Remote troubleshooting and support of electronic and mechanical systems in deployed projects
  • Collaborative work with the Ops Team and the Software Development Team

This position will report to Opti’s Deployment Team Lead and will be instrumental in ensuring excellent customer service and long-term resiliency of Opti products.

You will be working with a group of passionate and talented software and environmental engineers and scientists who are committed to Opti’s vision of more efficient cities and safer and cleaner water.

Requirements

Preferred candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, earth sciences, or a related discipline and have 0 to 2 years of experience in a related field. A background in computer science and customer service is beneficial.

  • Experience in networking and telecommunications
  • Software or hardware programming
  • Data analytics
